Hi Yuka!

I just wanted to say that I read your blog every time you update it. I love your work! It is really breathtaking to me. One of my favorite things to do is to sit an look at your art, analyzing it in my head. Sometimes it is so easy for me to understand your feelings in your drawings — other times I have no idea! And sometimes I like to see if I can imitate your drawing style, which helps me to go off onto little drawing tangents of my own…

But I wanted to thank you for doing what you do! It is wonderful, and it really means a lot to me to see someone who puts so much emotion into art. I really believe now that art does not just have to be “pretty”. It can be pretty and grotesque, cute and shocking and disturbing and thoughtful all at the same time. (: Hopefully I will find myself in Canada some time when you have a gallery opening!

And a late congratulations on Elijah — he is beautiful.
