You are asked to provide your name, email, postal address, and telephone number when you create an account and/or place an order. plastique monkey SHOP will use this information collected online to process and fill your orders. We require detailed contact information so that we can reasonably expect to be able to contact you if your order is delayed by unforeseen circumstances.
You can always update or delete your account information. After logging in, you can click "My Account" (at the top right of any page) to view or edit your account information. If at any time you would like your personal information on file to be deleted, just e-mail me at yukayamaguchi@plastiquemonkey.com. Please be sure to include your full name and e-mail address. Purchase information cannot be deleted, because doing so would break the SHOP's compliance with financial regulations and tax codes.

Routine communications from this SHOP and its customers are done exclusively by email. Automatic emails are sent at account creation, order confirmation, and order status change (stating that the order has shipped, for example). You may also receive an email confirming purchase approval when paying with a credit card. In addition, you are asked to provide your email address when asking a question about an item or sending a message to the SHOP owner. This is required so that a reply can be sent.

Credit Card Payments
You have the option of purchasing items from plastique monkey SHOP using a credit card. All of the credit card purchases made at this SHOP are processed through the Internetsecure secure payment gateway.
Information needed solely to process your credit card purchase (including card number, expiry date, and any security features) is collected and secured by Internetsecure only. This information is not shared with plastique monkey SHOP in any form, at any time.
plastique monkey SHOP provides a secure (SSL) platform to initiate transaction payment, passing along to Internetsecure the customer's login information (name, address, phone number) and order information (items ordered, applicable taxes and fees, and the total price). Internetsecure then processes the transaction and returns the customer to this site, indicating whether the transaction has been approved or denied. Credit card information (credit card number, expiry date, and any security features) collected by Internetsecure is not forwarded to the SHOP owner at any time.
Securing your information
plastique monkey SHOP uses 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt transactions with its customers. These transactions include account creation, account editing, login and logoff, and all steps in the checkout process.
The administrative side of plastique monkey SHOP is likewise protected by SSL. This SHOP is an installation of the Zen Cart open-source e-commerce software. Every effort is made to stay up-to-date on the site security recommendations for this platform. This provides additional protection in securing customer information.
Site Traffic Monitoring
Site use and traffic patterns on plastique monkey SHOP are monitored in an effort to improve the design of this site and the items offered for sale. This information is not entirely anonymous, since IP addresses (tracked in website statistics) indicate geographic location with some reliability. However, this information is used only to monitor trends in site use, and is stored only in aggregate.
The plastique monkey SHOP newsletter
plastique monkey SHOP publishes an email newsletter, which is sent to email addresses provided by customers who choose to subscribe. There is absolutely no obligation to subscribe, and the choice to do so is always "opt-in". Should a customer be mistakenly added to the subscription list, or should any customer wish to be removed from this list at any time, this will be promptly done. Every newsletter from plastique monkey SHOP includes a link to a page on this site where the customer can "unsubscribe" from the newsletter.
